joshua moffitt, age 11, from des Moines Iowa visits Newton Kart Klub on 10-8-11. Joshua runs in the unrestricted "clone" engine division, meaning the engine that powers this machine is based on a chinese made copy of a Honda GX200 196cc OHV engine. The other 4 machines signed in as the same engine, but with restrictors in place.The green 3, the blue 24, and the white/ blue 14n were restricted only by the use of a smaller exhaust header. The black/green had the larger header but was restricted by a restrictor plate in the intake. That plate was removed prior to thee 2nd heat race, and left out. Those machines are required to weigh 245 minimum and the rules the black and red 53 falls under require a minimum of 300. it weighed 318 that night. The 53 was scored seperately and had to start in the back all night, since it was a different racing class. Also, this was not a points event, and it was an unscheduled night at the end of the year, so it was just a fun and experimental night of sorts. It was a lot of fun for everyone involved, and sometimes you just have to have a night where there is no pressure ... enjoy
