  • Hey brother great to see you here again.

  • @snappydog357

    Thank you brother.

  • Great information. I always use both, in my kit, because they have different uses.

  • @westtexasprepper

I do the same man. Wasn't knocking paracord by any means......just tried to do an unbiased opinion on the two.

  • Is the line dipped in tar?

  • @kphifer1

  • Hay bud good vid! I absolutely agree. I was introduced to bank line at a yong age, my gramps was an avid fisherman and allways had spools of bank line in the boat. So I never even gave paracord a try nor would I give it a chance. Bank line never let me down so never had a reason to use anything else!!

  • i agrre. bank over para

  • Are trot line and untarred bank line basically the same thing?

  • Great review - thanks man!

Could someone tell me which brands of bank line are the best and where I could by it online?

    thanks!

  • well i disagree in that you can use bank line for everyting you can use paracord for. ( you can rapell if needed be with paracord, but not with bankline) but i still also prefer bankline over paracord. nice vid btw

  • Yeah fer example there's #36 Tarred Nylon Twine (Bank Line), each 1 lb. spool contains approximately 510 linear feet with a 340 lb. breaking strength.

But #12 Bank Line looks more like kite string, each 1 lb. spool contains approximately 1,649 linear feet with a 106 lb. breaking strength. Each $18.95.

Untarred has advantages, it slips better, and it won't goo up your clothing on hot days, but it doesn't hold a knot as well, etc. I think tarring was for old hemp twine preservative.

  • I am offend that you would dare educate and show the difference between bank line and 550. How dare you sir! By the way great vid. Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year.

  • I'm not trying to knock paracord either but you can also get bank line that has a 340.lb break weight and if you double it up it then has a 680.lb break weight, which is stronger than 550.lb paracord.

  • Great comparison, thanks for putting this one back up.
