http://www.euronews.net/ The Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas has formally presented a request for the United Nations to recognise Palestine as a sovereign state.
The US has promised to veto the move which it sees as counterproductive.
Abbas' appeal reflects a loss of faith in the peace process, which despite 20 years of talks, has led to no let-up in Israeli settlement building on land the Palestinians consider theirs.

@StangeWorld0000 I´m not a muslim, nor a palestine ciitizen, but logic dictates that the Jews stole the land, they simply dont have any right to be there at all!! Otherwise Poles could come and claim Berlin, because that land was their 1300 years ago. In other words Israeli are thieves and criminals that terrorize a nation that cannot defend themselves propperly beacause the israeli lobby in the usa protect Israel. Maybe Britain and French should have given the jews some of their territory.

@boskinator so with those millions dollar for palestine sieges and funds resistances, funds doctors, economics, social funds, etc... thats like you bought burger with a half dollars. if its right, if i am arafat... i will flee from palestine, not died at there. i will choice bought mediterinean or under political shelter in europes nation, enjoy living than fight againts israel. watch the storys please. al jazeraa have many. anyway, arafat never got autopsy record when he died..
