Bloom is a generative music application for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

The application acts like a keyboard. You can use your fingers to generate a melody that will play back in a loop. A soft background pad accompanies the melody.

You can choose to let the program run randomly, or you can choose to create.

You can select different "moods" (9 of them) that change the scales of the "piano"

The application is currently for sale at the App Store (on your iPhone/iPod Touch) or iTunes for $3.99

towards the bottom of the device, the notes are lower in scale. towards the top, higher.

A couple of you people got it wrong; just because you own an ipod doesn't mean you are trendy. There's no crime in owning a piece of technology that you like. The crime is in making this acquisition mandatory to be "hip" and "in the know" and being a complete ass about it.

My favourite iPhone app. Such a joy to be able to make beautiful music and patterns. It's great to set it off and play it very softly beside my pillow when I am wanting to sleep or chill out. Eno's work continues to delight and inspire me.
