  • I gave u at list 6 sources from poets and scholars that lived between 600 to 1200 years ago. The sources explain clearly the following facts:

    - khorasan was part of Iran and it was not named afghanistan

    - The culture of khorasan was persian

    - The peoples that lived there were called persians, not afghans, or pashtuns, or other names.

    - In the time that rumi (the Iranian persian poet) lived, khorasan was also Iranian with persian idendity and Rumi's teacher was also persian from tabriz.

  • Anvari (1126--1189), (persian poet): He served at the court of Sultan Sanjar of the Seljuqids. When Ghuzz tribesman devastated Khurasan and captured Sultan Sanjar, Anvari writes a letter to the Khaqan of Samarqand, asking him to liberate Iran from the Ghuzz tribesman

  • and by the way whoever says that Rumi was pashtun then that nigga is hella dumb niggaaaaaaaaa, thats like the stupids thing ive ever heard lol thats hella funny

  • listen ppl Rumi was Persia he was born in the area which is now known as Afghanistan but you cant say that he was afghan because afghanistan did not exist at that time but he is not iranian either. if anything he would be more afghan and he would be the afghan ppl's ancestor. but either way he was a one of us and he brightens our name in the world even today long after his death

  • Who cares if he was Iranian or Afghan or Turk! He can move human soul after 800 years! That's how Molana is, beyond nationality and all these lines that little minds are so obsessed with! This event happened in a Buddhist temple in LA! Hope some of us can really get the real point! Enjoy my friends

  • And Istanbul was Greek...

  • No brother, Iran and Afghanistan was part of khorasan...we cant say that khorasan was part of Iran.

He was born in Balkh and Balkh is Afghanistan...so it means he is From Afghanistan.

for the important thing is that we had a Poet Like him...not important where he was from.

  • But Khorasan was and is a part of Iran. Maybe balkh is some miles away and located in current Afghanistan. the important thing is that he was from Iran.

  • Mawlana Jalaludding Mohammad BALKHI...Balkh is located in today's Afghanistan not in Iran.
