In a test level using placeholder graphics, a comparison is made between a flocking algorithm and a homing algorithm for flying creatures in the upcoming Xbox 360 Live Community Game Weapon of Choice. The flocking system is more processor intensive but yields more interesting, dynamic results than a traditional homing algorithm. • Is this supposed to be a boss or a normal enemy?

  • This is one of the more complicated, normal enemies.

  • OK. If it was a boss, I was gonna suggest to keep the flyers closer to the core, but since it's a normal enemy, it looks great. Keep up the good work.

  • im totally 100% naked now hehe k

  • wow some cute guys in here!! lol. im SO horny!! v

  • I love this - as it makes me want to play this game even more. I think my first experience with shooting a core amidst a "guarding mechanism" that contained motion was in the arcade Phoenix (like...a 25 years ago). But that was just the silly band of barrier after you shoot through the big mass at the bottom of the mother ship. There is something about an enemy with this sort of meat shield that makes it that much more frustrating and rewarding to kill.
