Most of the time it is due to a undetected viral infection that causes inflammation to the cranial nerve 7. Any forehead paralysis? Able to wrinkle both sides of your forehead? Steroids will work to keep the inflammation down but I have seen patients have Bell's for months. Your case is mild. If you still have symptoms after steroids I would take ibuprofen for two more weeks 400 mg every 6-8 hours. Take with food to protect your stomach and avoid alcohol. Hope you get better.
