We had 48 hours to write, shoot and edit a short film under 6 minutes. At 6pm Friday, each team was given a genre, a line of dialogue, a prop and a character. Our team had the following items:
GENRE: Disney/Family
PROP: Banana
CHARACTER: Bodil Derezny, an animal lover
DIALOGUE: "Please don't do that"
Our genre was a 'bonus' genre dropped on us for the first time ever for this particular competition. Not really understanding exactly what makes a 'Disney' film, we wrote something with a 'moral'. There were about 10 genres spread out over 300 teams nationwide.
The 48 Hour film competition began as a small group of people having fun over the weekend, but has now grown into an official competition in which every man and his dog involved in film and TV, and some extras thrown in, take part in. Last year Peter Jackson was one of the judges.
The films had to be handed in at 6pm Sunday night, no later. Our teams film was 30 seconds to late.
Yay I finally got to see it! I remember when you where making that, I loved reading your LJ blogs on it and I was jealous of you for getting to do a production. ;) I hope you get back into film making! Was that your dad that said "Wow what a suit!"
