@jlvi13 is this just for soccer or most sports. i play rugby but im also a fan of bodyweight training, i think my strenght level is up to standard (just about got handstand pushups) but have a bit of difficulty doing L/V sits and cant touch my toes to save my life!

@69marc2332 Rugby is kind of the same sport muscular wise. I mean, you also might be inflexible, because of the sport itself. You can get more flexible, but usually not without risking a decrease in your sports performance.

When i do hamstrings stretching, i feel something pulling inside my knees, so i always have my knees slightly bent. Anyone knows why i have this in my knees and if i should keep stretching with bent knees?

@fre901108 You should not completely lock out your knees, maybe that's the problem. Your legs should be as straight as possible, otherwise the stretch will not be that good. Have you tried the lying hamstring stretch without rope? In that exercise it does not really matter if you have extended or bended knees.

Why do soccer players have tight hamstrings? I have been a soccer player for the last 15 years and my hamstrings are very tight.
I am trying to stretch them out, but how will that effect soccer?

@rickrizzle47 Muscles get shortened because they will then become stronger. For weightlifters this can also be an issue, although with soccer that's a very common problem. Don't try to get very flexible hamstrings when you are a soccer player, it's useless as a soccerplayer. It's called functional inflexibility. Meaning that it helps prevent injuries and improves results.
