i thought mbuna prefer not to have plants? i'm asking bcos i was going to get plants for mine but the guy at the fishstore said they don't like planted tanks they prefer just rocks

@28rampage They destroyed the plants...I would recommend rocks and driftwood only. Even the fake plants they destroy.

wow great light setup-I'm sure the fish are happy with it!!!!!! great rock setup as well.....where do you buy your plants?

I have amazon swords, java fern and some anubias, the anubias seemed to withstand the cichlids the best. The java fern wasnt bad either. I have 96 watts of light (now I upgraded this 55g to a 125g so I have low light), two bulbs are floral suns, and one is a 6700k one. i bought the All glass aquarium triple light thing from drsfostersmith(.)com for like 130?
