Argo is a 17 year old Gray Kiger Mustang, who was gathered by the BLM in October 2007. He had little hope of being adopted, and long term holding would have been his only option. I purchased him and he finally made the long trip from Burns, Oregon to Western Pennsylvania and arrived at my farm early in the evening of May 16, 2008. To say he is stunning is an understatement. He is pure power and wisdom. Just being near him, one is made aware of how incredible these horses are. The first step on our journey is started, may we travel down the road together as partners someday.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the very special people who work at the BLM. Some of you are extremly good at what you do and are fantastic to work with. I also would like to thank my friends(You know who you are.) for giving me the strength and having faith in me to undertake this monumental event. Without you guys I know I would not have been able to to do this. Thanks again! Enjoy! To learn more about argo visit: http://argosjourney.blogspot.com/

  • Love this guy. What a beauty--you have done a really great thing with this guy.

  • Argo! How cool to find him again! I miss your blog!

  • I saw that this horse had been captured and was up for adoption, and feared that his age and coloring didn't give him much of a chance, and am thrilled to find out he has a loving home! We have two BLM mustangs and three Kigers and I would like to thank you for preserving a part of our American heritage. Hope all is well with you and Argo.

  • Gosh I just stumbled across here, a month after the last comment. I just wanna say that I met Skybar a couple of years ago and she knows her stuff when it comes to horses. There's nothing wrong with getting a soft spot for a special horse...esp. when you are someone who has been pretty involved in the horse world otherwise, as Skybar is.

  • What a gorgeous horse!

  • It must be hard on an animal to make a drastic change like that. Running free over the mountains, gathering mares, the bonds he has made over his life with other horses. Their memorys are etched in stone, they never forget anything. I think the BLM was an ass for capturing a 17 year old horse. You wonder what they were thinking. But you were right to rescue him from a life in a small pen.

  • He just has something about him. His eyes, just have that old soul feel to them. He's not just aesthetic to look at. For his age, he looks like he really does carry himself very well. In some of these clips. It looks like he almost floats. So beautiful. All in all. Thank you for sharing.

  • LadyKaliska ~ You are very intuitive. I have been in the horse world over 30 years now and you are absolutely right. Argo does have an immense amount of history, he is truly a living legend and a joy to work with and around. I am very blessed to have him.

  • I didn't grow up around horses. I just came to naturally love horses. But the more I look into the 'horse world' the more I notice that many horse people (not all) like to tell everyone else how they should do things. And if you don't think that way you are an idiot. Other than a good deed, Argo is gorgeous. So what if you got him just to look at? (not saying you did) He obviously has a lot of history. I can only begin to imagine what you have learned from him. And what a blessing it was.
