Not only did this Gang of Climate Hysteria Criminals corrupt the science behind global warming (e.g destroying data, excluding dissent from the peer-review process, ignoring FOIA requests, etc.), their science never had any backing.

  • This man is a blasphemer! An evildoer! Science is about consensus, not about skepticism! He's obviously an evil, evil man! He's evil. Evil. (I'll keep repeating it until you believe me....).

    EVIL.

    he's evil....and a blasphemer

  • I assume you're talking about Brian J. Soden? He served as co-author of several papers in 2005 so you're going to have to be more specific. How about a title?

Sadly, he does show a tendency to rely on so-called "computer models" of climate. Computer models aren't proof of anything.

This tendency of some researchers to rely on computer fantasy instead of actual observational evidence is sad.

Dr. Richard Feynman called it a "disease".

As for the other thing, I'm not hopeful anymore.

  • @mixmastermeeks Recognise these:

"it must be man made CO2"

"they are "bad people" if they question the elite"

"Nobody can really tell us how we got here so there must be a god"

Taken out of context they get a different meaning.

  • @mixmastermeeks Climategate is well covered. There's been inquiries by the Brittish government, the American government, Universities, Councils and independent panels that have found no basis for the allegations. EPA concluded that the quotes have been selectively edited and taken out of context. Some of the quotes aren't even complete sentences. Have you read the actual emails?

  • @DrHowbeit I don't ignore what climate scientists have to say. I have listened and read much of what they have said. Then I have looked at the other side of the argument. The skeptic side is more compelling. And I feel pretty vindicated by climate gate and climate gate 2.0. Many of the criticisms towards the "experts" was confirmed. And I certainly don't feel that a Nobel Laureate makes someone's opinion infallible. But there is a myth that "denying" means your stupid.

  • @mixmastermeeks "If can't explain temp it must be man made"

Not the point I was making. And when it comes to the NAS there's no one fighting Lindzen's right to dispute consensus. The curious thing is why the common skeptic decides to listen to the nominal minority. Look at Giaever for instance. Nobel Laureate? Yes. Climate scientist? No. Then why take his words over the actual experts? He's got no data. Only an opinion. How did that make it to the news? Who pulled those strings?

  • @DrHowbeit And here is some data about the temp. It is part of Dr. Ivar Giaever's resignation letter to the American Physical society this September. ”The claim … is that the temperature has changed from ~288.0 to ~288.8 degree Kelvin in about 150 years, which (if true) means to me is that the temperature has been amazingly stable, and both human health and happiness have definitely improved in this ‘warming’ period,”

  • @DrHowbeit Well that is the same argument people make for god. Nobody can really tell us how we got here so there must be a god. If he can't explain the current temp trend it must be man made CO2. And the argument about the National Acdmy. and IPCC is just an appeal to authority. Science shouldn't be done by consensus.

  • @mixmastermeeks RL has no data or papers explaining the current temperature trend. His views are not shared by the National Academies, which he is a member of, nor IPCC that produces reports with scientists from 60+ countries. Thumbs up for skepticism. But don't stop halfway.

Can you point me to your data about the earth temp?

  • @DrHowbeit The world population in 1900 was well over 1 billion people. And certainly he isn't suggesting that people have no impact on the earth. He is just pointing out that people have very little impact on climate. Here are some tips. The earths temp has been unbelievably stable for the last century and a half. The problem is that through propaganda people are made to believe that they are "bad people" if they question the elite.

  • @kesselster um....I am pretty sure that was sarcasm.
