Building Berlin includes painting, video, photography, installation, and sculpture by artists who are directly shaping Berlins attractive arts and culture scene. Each of the artists is involved with organizing or founding art institutions, teaching, curating or somehow actively contributing to the public discourse around art in Berlin with some of the artists premiering their work in Canada. Through works that intersect with social themes of urban space, migration, economics and trade, visitors to the Gallery encounter the culture of a city in transition.
