Steam baking biscuits. This method plays upon the "Fauxbaker" method I started. It uses Wilton silicone baking cups - the feet on them hold the muffin liner up and out of the water that steams the biscuit.
It is an easy method to have baked items on the trail.

  • lovely but where do i get the muffin tins with feet? love it. also how did u get muffin thingy out of the pot? ty karen

  • @cougarbahia You can get the silicone muffin liners at cake decorating places, sometimes Wal-Mart (back in the craft area), in craft shops like Jo-Ann's and online via Amazon.

Once you turn off the stove you can reach in grab them with your fingers, they don't stay super hot (the silicone is oven safe so insulates).

  • Nice Video Sarah.

Seems like a lot of fuel to use for a single muffin. Is it possible to do two muffins in that setup?

  • You sure can! It depends on your muffin liner size but also on the type of pan you use - a wider pot you can sometimes fit 4 into, same cooking time :-)

  • I like this method better than cooking in the bag. I would have really liked to see you pull that muffin open so we could see how well it cooked.
