Monday morning. Time for school. Unfortunately Lucas wasn't in any of my classes. I knew what he had 7th hour though, choir. Not much really happened. I sat in class, met people, and started paper fights. Before I knew it, it was October and rehearsals were getting on their way. For our closing song, Lucas was just a few people in front of me and backstage, he was close enough to touch, in a non-creepy way. We'd talk and sing as a group of four; Lucas, Drew (his best friend), Ashley, and me. The concert had come, and we didn't really talk, granted we all had to be quiet and pay attention to cues, but it was amazing! I'll never forget it. The next day, October 8, 2010, I made the riskiest move I made so far that year, saying hi to Lucas. Bummer was, he didn't know me. So I just said hi, gave him a hug and let him get to class. The next week, I hung out with him at lunch. One day, I was hanging out with him and a few of the football players in choir and we were talking about the types of people we like. He turned to me, "What do you look for in a guy?"

My heart began to beat faster, but not much, "Choir guys and athletic guys."
"Yes!" he exclaimed in a secretive manner.

I laughed. I liked this kid he was pretty cool. Later that day, we were hanging out in the choir room just talking. He invited me to a football game that night and I decided to go. When I got there, he was waiting for me by the ticket booth place with his friend, Drew. "Hey," they both said.

I smiled, "Well, hello there." I gave Lucas a hug.

"I'm kind of sweaty."

"I don't care." I let go and gave Drew a friendly hug even though we didn't know each other too well.

We found a place to sit in the stands and Lucas found someone he knew, said he'd be back, and then went to go talk with them. I was left sitting in an awkward silence with this kid I knew was his best friend. Just to make conversation, I babbled on about a pretty messed up April Fool's joke. "But I mean, we were dating over spring break. I don't know how they didn't know that but they went ahead and told me my boyfriend got one of my friends pregnant. It was stupid." Drew nodded. It didn't occur to me until recently that he probably wasn't paying attention.

Weeks passed, and I occasionally hung out with Lucas and Drew but not too often due to the fact I mainly just sat there listening. On October 29th, soccer had started up. I ran out to the field ready to go just to be let down by the fact that I was told I couldn't practice with them yet because I wasn't cleared. Upset, I walked back over to the girl locker room and grabbed my stuff. I was stuck at school for another hour with nothing to do. I walked outside and guess who was there, Lucas. We walked and talked for a while. No, I don't remember what he said but as everyone says, you never forget your first kiss. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into a hug. He backed up a little with his arms still around me and his forehead was against mine. And at that moment, bam! We kissed. Now, this wasn't my first kiss but it was my first kiss with him. Little did I know, I was just played.
