  • I love Black Bottle,Not that well known in the UK,Got mine from Tesco Stores but now they have no stock...What a Bummer....

  • Have you ever tried "Something Special"? I'd love to know what you think of it. I'll be trying "Black Bottle" soon. Thanks for your review.

  • I tasted bacon bits no lie

  • Freddie Freeloader - good stuff. Black Bottle - also good stuff. You sir have good taste. (Didn't recognize it til Cannonball's solo)

  • Yup, no Ardbeg or Laphroaig in BB, it sticks with Bunna and Caol Ila, they are cheaper. "Islay Mist" depends on Laphroaig, but is less peaty. You are definately right about the grain in BB, but I was comparing it to Teachers, in BB at least you have some peaty notes, in Tchrs the Ardmore is lost. For cheap everyday scotch I dram Blairmhor by Inver House distillers. It is a blend of malts, 8yo, no shitty grain inside and is at the same price as BB and Tchrs. Check it out, you might like it.

  • @vigil12348 Thanks. I have actually tried BB since posting that and found it alright for the price. The BB I had however was NAS. It was definitely a peated whiskey, no Ardbeg or Laphroaig though. The finish was forgettable and definitively had that grain alcohol taste that blends do have. For the price though, I'd take it over JW Black.

Black Bottle, mate. Much more complexity. Teachers tend to decline in quality, although they have a lot of the superb Ardmore inside. Ardmore on its own is a marvelous malt, but as far as blends are concerned, BB has the Bunna sweetness and long Ardbeg finnish. It will linger for five minutes on your palate. Incomparable.

That's ok. I'm done growing up. I'm on death's doorstep. I had a very serious fall.

Something terrible happened to me the other day.

I forgive Scotland for what it has done to me.

    That says it all.

    God Bless

  • @pluto4847 And you need to grow up.

people like you give Americans a bad rep here in europe.

  • I got it for $16.99 at Marketview Liquor
