@scottlsx the coast guard is apart of the military because 1) the coast guard is subject to the ucmj. 2) before they move to the department of homeland security they were apart of the department of transportions. 3) in the time of war(ie ww2) the coast guard is apart of the navy.

@infinithope they are more of a detachment of the navy, i wouldn't say special forces..but they are the most trained in killing, out of the five branches of the US military
