Yeah sorry about the aqueous solution thing (aq). I just assumed that if there was a big number with a + or - after the element that it is obvious that it is in aqueous solution. You're right that they're both ions, though. But we only use the ionic thing when there is a cation AND an anion, which this reaction doesn't. One species is being oxidized, the other is reduced. Correct me if you need to! :-)
