Lovely to see Dave dancing after all this time. I was privileged to be invited to join the Earls of Essex by him, and played in the bands GBH and North Circular Accidental Band with him before I moved away from London in the early 70's. He was one of nature's marvels.

Great to see Dave do this again, used to see a lot of him around Stratford & Leyton.

I knew Dave as well, coming from Hastings myself. I'd seen him do this before too. Great bloke, and that box is still working hard too- it was kindly given to me to play by his wife Rachel

I knew Dave back during the 70s from playing at events including morris, a number of Folk Camps and the 'Knees Up Cecil Sharp' celidhs. He was a great bloke, and watching this reminds me of his musical skill and great sense of fun. Thanks for putting this video on here.

it is indeed the late Dave Roberts, who in the same competition played for Keith Leech while being held upside down, and then played for my own dance(fortunately not posted!)A real character and much missed by all who knew him.
This is a video of my Dad doing what he did best, its lovely to be able to watch him as I would have only been 2, so thank you
