@EddieG1888 i bought my copy about october 1987 im guessing that was the 1st version and i bought marys prayer a couple of months before that but that wasnt a hit until march-april 88 so that must also be the first copy ive done this with black wonderful life and climie fisher love changes everything 86 and 87 respectivly a year before both had sucess in the charts

@JulieC321 There were two versions recorded of this tune. I asked Gary a couple of years back, and he didnt remember that either! But after racking his brains, he said that basically they werent happy with the way it was done the first time round, and Virgin were pressing for hit singles.

This version is on the vinyl copy of the album, and was produced by Glen Skinner. Dave Bascombe did the other version (with the tom-tom breaks in the bridges) which is on the CD.

That's the follow up to "Mary's Prayer".  Only Mary's Prayer is their biggest hit.

@thorneyno1 You are right on. Danny Wilson was just great in the studio and in concert. They were all great musicians. I always thought if I had a lot of money I would hire them to reunite.

It is a different version indeed. I'd love to know where it came from.

I know that many of these tunes did have more than one arrangement however.

I think I like the "final" one better, but this is cool too. What a great band and songwriter.

Brilliant band - Saw them live a few times and they were superb - Still one of the best live acts I've ever seen. Great if they were to come back as DW.
