From the start of the 1991 Gulf conflict, CityTV created these "Gulf Watch" spots which ran throughout the day to keep us informed of all updates. It may seem tacky now, but at the time it was a major change in the way CityTV delivered breaking news.
@MrMichaelChua It was from CityLine, a variety show they used to air weekdays at 10am with Marilyn Dennis. I remember the tune they played in the opening credits was I'm Still Standing until around 1997ish when they changed the tune to something different.

@achiu31 IT'S MY FAVORITE SONG I'M STILL STANDING BY SIR ELTON JOHN!!! What show is this from?

First 2 seconds really had some nostalgia. That Elton John song and the B&W floor tiling was all I remember from watching CityLine as a 3-year old with mom.

The night the Gulf war did start every channel was covering it except City who showed Shanghai Surprise.

A precursor to the "Fox News Alert"? CityTV was ahead of its time in so many ways.
