Method 1. (Only if the model is not fine detailed), make a positive moulding, by papier mache-ing over the model. You will need to make sure it is covered in some sort of release agent like petroleum jelly (Vaseline, etc). You cut off the papier mache in pieces, then stick it back together again to recreate the shape you started with.

how can this be done with a sculpture already baked?

Yes. It can be. One method is to papiermache over it. Another is to make a multi-part solid mould from your original, and papier mache into that. You can also use a flexible mould (like semi-rigid rubber)

Gracias. He utilizado el látex. Vea mi vídeo ' Eating' para una marioneta hecha eso manera. ¡No leo españoles, sino Babelfish usado para traducir su comentario, y para traducir esta contestación!
in english ... Thanks. I have used latex. See my video 'Eating' for a puppet made that way. I do not read Spanish, but used Babelfish to translate your comment, and to translate this reply!

Hi.
Excellent. Really glad it helped. I have found this method works for me. ITwo things to think about are
1. finding the line of symmetry. i.e.where could you 'slice' the model in half to make the two mould halves.
2. undercutting - i.e. where could I divide the mould so that the castings won't get stuck in it!
