What's your #1 question about how to get a better topspin on your serve?

Let me know in the Comments area below. Thanks in advance.

  • That is exactly what I have been doing(opening up to soon)...and what I am currently correcting/ working on(staying closed and hitting up on the ball) ...thanks for the info

  • @tennisitis Get back to me with some feedback. Has this tip helped?

  • Hi Brent - Off topic, but have you done a strategy video on how to deal with a pusher? I practice with really good players who have a flatter ball trajectory, so I've become accustomed to using their power to generate pace. I play better against better quality players yet find my game falls apart when faced with a really good pusher who simply fluffs it over, and does it unfailingly. As I'm sure you know, in tournament play you have to beat these guys before you can play better opponents.

  • @adman0828 Adman. Sorry to be so late responding. Obviously have to have the mindset that you're going to be out there for awhile. That in itself can help a lot just knowing that this isn't going to pretty, in fact, that you'll have to "work" more than against flatter hitters.

I like to drop shot a lot against pushers. Bring him in, lob over the backhand. Drop volleys. Drop returns of serves.

  • how far forward should the ball toss be?

  • @caloyjp 1st serve or slice, the toss should land a foot or so inside the baseline. 2nd serve - just slightly behind you.
