Using Layer Masks

This is a tutorial on how to use layer masks in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

The video is kind of long and it goes slow at times. I didn't have much of what I was going to do or show planned, especially near the end as you can probably tell.

I hope this helped at least a little bit. The main goal was to show you can use layer masks for just about any editing. Once you figure out how to use layer masks and get comfortable with using them, they can be a great help.

At first, the goal of the video was to show you how to get smoother skin in Photoshop, but after I had done that, it seemed too simple, so I went on to show how to use layer masks for changing skin tone, makeup, and eye color.

I didn't notice how much my "ch's" whistled before this video. xD

@trippingflies Oh there are loads of other great tutorials on YouTube! That is how I learned everything I know, along with experimentation--the best learning tool. I have gotten away from Photoshop (this video is 3 years old now) so, I can say I won't be doing any more. I'm sorry, but good luck!

what do you do when every time you click on the brush, it says that it does not correspond to the chanel. how do you set up your tools so that it works with the mask layer.. mine ever works on the layer mask :( or is there a way to brush without having to use the layer?
