Police Women (trailer)

Pure cheese 1974 "copsloitation" drive-in romp from that exploitation movie stalwart, Lee Frost ("The Thing With Two Heads", "Love Camp 7"). Red-headed heroine Sondra Currie kicks ass (and sometimes balls) while taking on bad guys and sexist male co-workers - and while looking damn great in a bikini. Foxy Jeannie Bell ("TNT Jackson") co-stars, and biker movie vet William Smith has a cameo. No classic by any means, "Police Women" still a fairly entertaining flick for craphounds and bears the hallmarks of Frost's touch, i.e. cheese and sleaze, sex and nudity, scantily clad girls, and lots of B-movie action.

You have to remember that women as street cops were none existent, for the most part, until the 1980's! Not that long ago. So any movie had to make a female film cop very beautiful, but also seem competent and tough. The concept of a woman as street officer was considered ludicrous at the time.
