Why is this like the only beach in the UK that isn't named after the area the beach is in, its just lame, most beaches around the world (where there is surf) are not named after the area

@Pagra101 well it does of coarse have a real name but this is the name that was featured in a magazine to try to keep it from what its like today. Prehaps I shouldn't put vid of the place on here but the damage has already been done. Might even have a wave there tommorrow??

its not lynmouth, it was named after tom lister who had a surf shop in the nearby town back in the eighties and the internet has killed it as its totally overcrowded when its good and even when its fairly crap so cheers wankers

@hobbsie999 I've surfed there for 20 odd years, for many years dropping every thing to get this place but it has always been crowded apart from the odd day when people didn't reliese it was on. The problem now is that half the people in the water aren't good enough to surf here and just drop in when you've taking off on the peak. I don't think its the internet thats killed this place more the many magazine articles and bloody mobile phones cause every bodys got to tell there friends when its on

@skanksteruk1 yeah its prob both! apart from the last couple of years ive been surfing there for nearly 20 years too mainly taking sickies off work when its been on as during work time was the least crowded time as you prob know ! cheers :-)

@hobbsie999 I was told the name listers was the name of a house that one of the true local surfers lived in that looked over the break. A guy called Rich told me that and his brother was the person who was writting the features in "surf magazine" I think there was a pic of me in one of the articles well it was a kneeboarder so it was either me or Nick alittle too far away to tell who.

@skanksteruk1 could be , it was named listers before i started surfing there ,i just heard that from a mate who surfed here early eighties. i know Nick P and now i remember who you are, we surfed sametime many times you had a crappy van !!! am i right ?? :-)
