I find that when I am in close proximity to other people, we are often thinking many of the same things, so when one of us says something, there's a sense of relief and maybe even a strange sort of fellowship. I have a way of mentally synchronizing with anybody I get close to. It helps a lot with communication.
But I also get a lot of people projecting things onto me, especially in online arguments. It helps a lot to recognize it so you can avoid doing it yourself.
