well done dale that's quick!! just shows hand drill should not be overlooked as a fire by friction method in this country, bow drill is very popular but you show how hand drill can be used with less materials than the bow drill!.

lol yea, jumping in there with dry stuff can make a difference. No offence, I can do the same thing right now with zero problems. Pick up some wet wood, or do it with the material around you and I will have respect.

@PartisonConfederate Yes of course it does. I can do it after dunking my kit in water but then, using a special drilling technique, it takes about 5 mins.. no where near 5 seconds. Are you going to upload a vid of a fast ember? I always like a challenge!

hehehe,, that is really fast, the world record with bow drill ( into flame. ) 7 1/5 seconds. 1937. i think you can beat it with your hand drill.
