Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys performing 'Southern Flavor' at the Country Gold show in Japan on September 23rd, 1989. The band consists of Tom Ewing on guitar, Tater Tate on fiddle, Blake Williams on banjo and Billy Rose on bass.
What a great video thanks for that! Seventy-eight years old and picking strong. Love it when the fiddle comes in for its first break on SF!! Fantastic close up of the GREAT Gibson F-5 -- and the famous picker in action. And that mandolin sounds pretty good for what it had been through also.
Thanks for sharing, Evan. Monroe looked like he felt good and was "in the zone". That must have been a great tour for him and the Bluegrass Boys. Good to see Tater Tate fiddling too. They are both missed.
