This is a new song by the Jicks called "Bill Fay". It was one of my favorites from the night. Sorry about the bad video. I was really close to the stage.
@scoutsummers hi pratingknave, how you going? how is portland? it is already february, and nothing has changed, i still love listening to this! Angie.
good luck with the move, i've been lucky and i haven;t moved for years, and the world keeps spinning around and every few years Stephen Malkmus seems to spin off it, and land in Sydney and i am treated to a show,And time does go faster so theoretically the shows are getting closer together, just like the years.AND only 6 months until Pavement reach our shores!
The portable rock thing sounds like a good idea, albeit a potentially hazardous one, lol. I'd still buy it.
I've heard that Stephen is kinda short, but I don't really know. It's all relative, anyway.
I haven't had the opportunity to see him perform yet, but I'm determined to do so at least *once* before I die. I'm moving to Portland in five or six months, so that should probably increase my chances a bit, don't you think? Ah, I can't wait to get out of PA.
hi,was talking about the air, not a state of being.Anyway if i had a portable rock to stand on i'd bring that along to see eye to eye, this would have been almost possible at the metro show, but it was raing and just dragging a raincoat around is a mean feat, 'Iam saving the rock idea for a sunshine moment when i can stand on it ,on tippy toes and open my eyes..And if Malkmus is shorter than me, i will just bend my knees awkwardly and automatically, and kinda gravitate towards the sound and light
Ah, I see. Well, I've never been one to do the cool thing, because I'm totally lame, but I'm okay with that. And I completely understand the crick in the neck thing, that always happens to me when I'm that close. I just don't really care about the pain, because I'm always in some kind of pain anyway.
Yeah, I just now realized that not all stages are created equal. *eye roll*
Sorry, I didn't take into consideration that a stage might be too high. The stage at my show was at thigh-level.
well yeah looking at the ground with my eyes closed would be kinda silly,so maybe it's the eyes in the back of my head that are trying to see/hear? Somehow i just feel more comfortable with that posture, the air is cooler. Also looking up at someone on stage kinda cricks my neck and when Stephen Maklmus' feet are at my head level, eye contact would seem ridiculous. If we were dancing together he would be kneeing me in the forehead and kicking me in the chin.
So, next time, you should blatantly check Stephen out. Or, you know, occasionally take a peek at his hair or something. It's really okay.
P.S. I noticed your bum comment. And I noticed the bum. I've always just assumed that he didn't have one, being the deathbed-thin guy that he is, but there it was. Little, but there.
I'm done being a creep now.
I loved this video, and the song is fantastic. I hope he'll release a record soon. I need some sweet sounds to jam to. I'm totally jonesing.
Stephen changed a few of the names of these new songs played on this tour..This is now called Share The Red on Mirror Traffic.

Oh, yeah, of course, silly me.

Sorry Malkmus.

So looking 'down' is the safer and 'cooler' option.
