Demonstration of the rich audio found in these high-end pre-WW2 design shortwave receivers. View Video 2 to see the speakers used by the SX-16 and SX-28 to make this video. The audio you hear is from these two receivers and the matching Hallicrafters period speakers: an R-12T for the SX-16 and a PM-23 for the SX-28. The music's source is from AM broadcast station KEAR, San Francisco, at 610 kc.

  • I used to collect Hallicrafters, and the SX28 was my pride and joy! I was up to about 14 radios when i sold off the collection. I'm getting the itch to hunt up another one!
