Demonstration of the rich audio found in these high-end pre-WW2 design shortwave receivers. View Video 2 to see the speakers used by the SX-16 and SX-28 to make this video. The audio you hear is from these two receivers and the matching Hallicrafters period speakers: an R-12T for the SX-16 and a PM-23 for the SX-28. The music's source is from AM broadcast station KEAR, San Francisco, at 610 kc.
I used to collect Hallicrafters, and the SX28 was my pride and joy! I was up to about 14 radios when i sold off the collection. I'm getting the itch to hunt up another one!

I am in awe of your old equipment, and how it has been restored to its current operational state.
I am moved by your choice of music in this clip as it truly shows these rigs in all their 'glory'.
Your FDR clip was inspiring also, as no doubt countless Americans listened anxiously to their President during that terrible time on equipment such as you have displayed.
Thanks very much for sharing this.
