My ball python bloats up as if she is pregnant every couple of months. I have to put her in a bath and only THEN can she release what is inside her. Most of it is all gas with some feces and urates. She has done this three times now. What could it be?

We use a number of different medications to make the animals as comfortable as possible. This snake woke up well from the surgery and has made a complete recovery.

@zippy0099: There are a coupple of causes of this. Sounds more like your snake is getting constipated. I would strongly suggest you find a reptile vet near you andget her checked over. I would take a fresh faecal sample with you because they want to check for parasites. Good luck.

Thanks for your comments.
Snakes should do well without a gall bladder. It is a procedure commonly done in people with no ill effects. It is also done on rare occasions in dogs with no complications. Some animals such as horses don't even have a gall bladder!
Post-operatively she woke up pretty slowly. It took here about 1.5 hours to start to breathe on her own. Within a short time after that she was moving around and acting perfectly normally.
