Last Steam Train beyond Leongatha 1988 South Gippsland Railway

Victorian Railways Steam Locomotives D3-639, a 4-6-0, and K153 a 2-8-0, now operated by Steamrail, hauled a special train, double heading from Melbourne to Foster and return on November 13th 1988 during the 1988 Austeam program of events in association with the bi-centenary of Australia celebrations. This was also the reason for the Flying Scotsman steam locomotive, 4472 being brought out from Britain to run special trips on the standard gauge network of the country. The two above mentioned locomotives were turned at Foster on the turntable which has, since the line closed, been installed at Korumburra. The highlight of the trip was surely the photo stop which was run near ther top of the Hoddle Range with a backdrop of Corner Inlet and Wilsons Promontory in the distance. Wilsons Promontory is the most southerly part of the Australian mainland. This line remained open to and along the Barry beach branch for a weekly oil train to the end of June 1992. Rail recovery trains were run almost as far as Foster in 1994. The unusual shunting manouvres at Foster were on account of the rails in the yard having been lifted apart from the track to the turntable. Before the train arrived at the station, one of the two locomotives was taken off it ran onto ther turntable track. The other locomotive then pulled the train past the turntable track. When the first locomotive was turned, it thus attached to the Melbourne end of the train. The turned locomotive then pulled the train with the not turned lococomotive still attached to the other end, towards Melbourne past the turntable track allowing the unturned locomotive to be detatched and turned. While this was happening, the first locomotive to be turned, pushed the train back into the station past the turntable siding, allowing the second locomotive to be turned, to be placed on the Melbourne end of the train with the first one turned.

@flyingpigstuff The planet will still be in existence long-long after you depart from it. The question is will it be a better place after you have left it? A planet without human beings would be of no avail because human beings are here to appreciate and look after it. Demoralised human beings though, think in terms of how they can can get rid of their fellow human beings. The man made global warming fraud is one of their ways. By this they can have closed down, essential for life production.

carbon dioxide which is rather a gas. Nevertheless, all life depends on Carbon dioxide which is a mere

half of one percent of the atmosphere. It has always naturally varied and is recycled. All living matter, even

you, are built of it. You eat plants and animals composed of it and so depend on it for life.

You breath it out and it's recycled into more food to keep you alive. It's Great stuff

Do you think it a lie to say smoke is not carbon or do you think it is a lie to say carbon dioxide is carbon considering that real carbon is generally black as was demonstrated in the smoke from the locomotives.

The elite fraudsters want to tax us on carbon dioxide production for their own wealth production. They do this by pretending everyone believes carbon dioxide is carbon.
