I love Yoda. He's very sweet and very wise. I was a small child when I first saw this film and I was frightened of him, but I was too young to understand it. It was many years later that I read the books by Carlos Castaneda, but I remembered Yoda and wondered if Geroge Lucas hadn't been inspired by them when he invented the character and the scenes with him in.

@Anointed4Revival the force is the electric fluid and the magnetic fluid...not the holy ghost, but if you Think the force is from a book that GOD wrote him SELF then...shit man, i don't know lol
-
@Anointed4Revival Um no. The "Force" has always gone hand in hand with Buddhism and other spirituality systems. If the Jedi believed and worshiped a deity, then we would be talking about Monotheistic (one) or possible Polytheistic (more than one) Religions. This isn't the case with the Force.

@Huzmo Yoda's point was that we are bound by the Force in non-physical ways, which is awesome considering that concept takes the idea of life and gives it a philosophical will. Lucas has Qui-gon saying that Force-sensitivity is determined by microscopic life forms in our physical cells. Explain to me how that isn't contradictory.

@seamoretwillnant The midichlorians give us knowledge about the force, they do not create it.

YODA: Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter! *referring to Luke's body during his lecture about the Force*
QUI-GON: Midi-chlorians are a microscopic life form that resides within all living cells.
... George, do you even WATCH your own movies?
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.

the mixture of yodas voice, his words, his actions, the environment and the music at 2:29 to 3:10 makes this one of my favourite scenes of all time.
