CLOSED RIDES: Space Invader 2, at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

A video of the now gone Space Invader 2 at Blackpool pleasure beach. The ride is now open at BREAN LEISURE PARK under the name of Astro storm. Instead if the colourful aliens and scenery the ride had when it was at Blackpool, the new owners of the ride have taken a different approach, and the ride is now pitch black with a few flashing lights positioned around it, as well as some other effects on the chain lift. The flashing lights are in tunnels so that they keep the rest of the ride pitch black. These flashing lights are good, and they improve the ride experience quite a lot.

the boy did not 'panic in the dark' nor was he confused. he was pissing about with his mates (who all had stolen wristbands on) he was trying to 'surf' the back of the carrage but fell off. where do you people get your info from???

it hasnt closed because of the boy as he died over 10 years ago.

I worked on this ride for three years, as the car was climbing the conveyor at the begining he managed to climb out of his harness and clambered onto the back of the car, at the top of the conveyor, at the first drop, was an overhanging piece of scenery and it was a high drop onto concrete with various metal bars in between. They changed the harnesses after that, the things used to bash the holy shit out of your ears.

i used to love this ride.... went the other day to the park and wanted to go on this ride to find out it was closed! :(

i think the ride is still at blackpool...just boarded up so no one can get in..

Some poor kid did die on this ride due to track surfing, I worked there at the time, the kid was stupid but he did not deserve what happened to him. everybody was shocked especially the father of three who found him.
