basically, this thing works like a car generator. Two of these things can charge a bank of batteries if all the components are in good condition and working properly. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to see results of charging in any battery as long as it holds the charge.

It was going pretty fast, but frame rate doesn't really show it, has to be said revs were much higher earlier on, a neighbour commented on it, but that clip was deleted in error. Thanks for looking & for your comment.

Windy day and the turbine is hardly moving? That thing should be twistin' like a maniac!

I have a brand new dc - 540. How long did it take for your Generator to break in?

A few days, mainly it just needs to distribute the grease around both bearings.

thanks Its broke in now. Spins like a top. No load or batt. on it produced 34 volts at about 8 amps. That 272 Watts. Wow. Blades are 29 in. and made out of 3 in pvc. I have 6 blades. I connected my batt. 12 volts and my dump load of two 100 watt light bulbs. I know I need more for the dump. I am just testing. I dont think my batt. is holding charge. 2 hours of running non stop and charge light was green. 2 hours later the damn thing was back to 12 volts again with no load. What gives

That's pretty good going Likely could be sulphated plates in battery if old, check it's not draining with a bulb/wires multimeter or an ammeter, but it shouldn't do.
why not make fibreglass blades, moulded off em a guy does in U.K.,don't split / break then.

Hi i am not saying its bad but i think you need better blades try pvc pipe blades if you can good luck!

This vid doesn't show them hitting 900-1000 rpm, drainpipe ones are ok but wouldhavesheared / split i would think, thanks for comment/looking!.
