  • Courageous! The vice president for people operations at Google really stood up for Google. What a remarkable courage you showed!

  • USA needs a good educational system, and less financial strain on its people so they have the time an resources to educate themselves. Housing costs and the very prosperity of cash into check places (people being so tight on funds they have to borrow for 2 weeks in advance) are the biggest obstacles. Once everyone feels secure, they can start turning their attention to realizing their dreams, or even having dreams in the first place. Most people right now dream of winning the lottery.

  • Bechtolsheim was not an H1B visa worker. Shriram was not a CS, EE type of technical workers; he was a salesman. What does this have to with a cheap labor program like H1B?

  • not here to involve in an argument just to get the facts right...

Kavitark Ram Shriram "Google's sherpa" - true

he also "formed the DNA of the entire company" - true.

The guy who wrote the 100K cheque was Andy Bechtolsheim, the founder of Sun Microsystems.

(the market mostly regard Bechtolsheim as the principle investor in Google. Shriram's financial involvement is mysterious)

  • Can you tell me exactly what you disagree with?

  • Lie 3: Intel Founder - he referring to George Grove who was non-technical and again not a guest worker or H1B of any sort.

Lie 4: Yahoo Founders - David Filo was a native born American of European descent. Jerry Yang was not a guest worker or H1B - he immigrated with his family and was completely educated in the USA.

  • Lie 5: Sun Microsystem: None of the technical leads who founded Sun were born abroad - only a few of the sales/admin people - and none of them started as guest workers or H1B.

  • Lie 6: He lists business operations, global marketing, global business operations and data infrastructure operations positions filled by H1Bs -these are all administrative types of jobs NONE of which require advanced math or science skills. Mr. Bock, how much is Google paying these guys? What new industries have they started? How many are over 40 years old? How many of these jobs really require that they be physically present in the US?

  • Lie 7: Orkut and Barat: Note that he even admits they were developers and did not invent the concept of the sites they worked on. Funny how he can only site two low level coders. He cannot site any H1Bs that started a legit tech company that is still operating today!

Lie 8: Laszlo Bock: What a joke! He even says he immigrated as a child. Did you come on a H1B visa at age 6, Mr. Bock? Does American need another lying lawyer/lobbyist for any country?
