the important thing is, both these guys grew up poor. very poor. kids now have nothing to fight for. if you've got a cell phone and a playstation, why go to the gym?

when you look back, all the great heavyweights came from low economic backgrounds. they were HUNGRY.

This is my all-time favorite fight. I'd rather be at this than the fight of the century, rumble in the jungle, or the thrilla in manila. Get a good look at Evander, people. This is what a real warrior looks like. Bowe was just too powerful and absorbant. Evander played right into his hands, getting into a slugfest to prove himself and that's why he lost.

Yes, those were the days when even if you didnt watch tv or listen to radio, you would still hear the names of the good fighters by word of mouth. Thats how good they were.

But these days, no-one talks much about the current boxers and the only reason why you hear so much about them is cos the media splatters them all over the internet lol

Holyfield's got more heart and chin i'd say, but he just leaves himself too open and can't pierce the hide of bowe

for some reason these guys look really sluggish, especially bowe, he's just covering up really well and not taking anything to the head, holyfeilds just bouncing around, getting hit and missing all his shots, he was trying to prove too much, getting into a slugfest with a much more powerful fighter

How good were these 2 in their primes? Bowe fights amazingly well inside for such a big man. Would have been an all time great if not for the lack of dicipline :-(

Bowes head trauma probably came from training camp because he was so lazy his sparring partners would tee off on him.
