Another must see documentary...
Merrilees Parker investigates the popularity of fur and tries to find out whether the animals are killed humanely.
Later on she goes beaver trapping and asks whether she could kill it, skin it and wear it. Will she ever wear fur again? Or a better question will you?

I agree that the facts on wiki doesn't neseccarily have to be true. And studies can be manipulated/corrupted both ways. That's why people should look at the facts; millions of animals enduring horrible lives and deaths on furfarms around the world. This can't be denied and shouldn't be dismissed. Very few people indeed need fur to survive. But this has noting to do with the modern fashion and fur industry which promotes animals cruelty on a massive scale just for the sake of fashion. Sickening!

why not wait until the animal dies..and then before the fur is diseased off,cut it off.I mean, how can anyone be so cruel to just kill an animal that slowly, for the benefit of money!

I also will have to disagree with trapper Johnny in his claim for the plants and animals being equal, coz they are not. Animals are Sentient beings which have minds, meaning- they have preferences, desires, or wants. Plants have cognitive activities that don't require applying mind to it.

For more info on the subject for those who are interested, i found Gary L. Francione's article very useful on The Abolitionist Approach- What About Plants

Its an animal. were predators. I am a hunter and although I do agree it should be dead first id like to point out it is easier to skin an animal while its warm.

It's like the meat industry. It can be done in a way that is ok or there can be abuses. If animals are raised in bad conditions & used for fur only, that's not acceptable. If all the animal is used or if it's a problem or pest animal like coyotes & they are killed with as little suffering as possible I have no problem with it. If a fox or coyote is killed as a pest or a rabbit is raised for food It's disrespectful to not use as much of the animal as possible. That includes the fur.
