@beatleman54 Beatleman is correct. Back then days, all the TV shows were "square". MD probably had to go out on a limb to do this. Moby Grape were not exactly a big mainstream act, so besides everything else Mike D had good taste! He wassomeone who grew up in the 40's...rock and long hair were new, and I'm sure the prevailing thought among the straights was that it wouldn't last. But at least he did his part. Rock on TV was few and far between, we were happy for anything we could get.

Great band!!
The 60's were the BEST time for music.
Today's music isn't even close a second.
Now it's about lavish shows and PR; the music is second and the fans are third.
