Fingerstyle solo on a great standard. Jamey Aebersold play along. Fingerstyle seems to open up a whole range of possiblities. Check out Sylvain Luc and Mick Goodrick. There are a lot of great fingerstyle players out there.

I have a Nashville B Bender Tele that has undergone, shall we say, a Frankenstein process....I have a mini humbkr in the neck position cuz I never cared for the neck pickup sound of a stock Tele...how the heck do you get yours to sound that great???? Mine always crap out in the neck pickup when I try to "get on it".

@steveyraynelson Well I'm not that sure it's that great but thanks anyway. I play a lot of classical music too. Fingerstyle gives a warmer sound.

@steveyraynelson Cut the top off of the neck pickup cover (leaving the grounded sides) with a dremel (you'll want to take it off or the pole pieces will be covered in metal shavings), problem solved without buying another neck pup.

You'll end up with a neck pup that looks like one of Brian May's Trisonics, but sounds like a fuller much less muddy Tele neck pup.

What model of Telecaster is that. when the tone is right and the finger technique, the tele makes a fine jazz guitar.
