look how huge conan's suit it. That probably could provide shelter for a family of deer.

@DJkevvykev I totally agree that this would have been perfect for Johnny Cash to sing. Among his many qualities, Cash had an offbeat sense of humor, and I think that he would have appreciated this song. It is certainly in his style. Remember, "A Boy Named Sue" was also not exactly a conventional country song. I can just imagine Johnny singing, "Salt Lake City, everybody off..."

@extremelybusy123 : yeah, that's it... he's like a punk/folk/poet songwriter with a sweet sense of humor. Just going from three songs I've seen so far... I see the Lou Reed delivery but I hadn't put my finger on it.

@BlackJacketJones : you're so right.

I never knew about this guy, just watching him today, he seems great. Love the songs and the attitude he has seem really kind and sweet.

Too bad his guitar isn't audible. Otherwise this is such a GREAT live version!

I love JR and JC and would never have thought of that, but you are right. Johnny Cash would have done a heck of a good cover of this.

In an interview years ago, Bob Dylan said that Jonathan Richman was a musician that he liked, him and Tom Waits.

he reminds me of Shirley Temple.
I love how Johnathan reacts when the audience gets all riled up toward the end. You can see how happy he gets about it.

I am so thankful we have JR, my music world would have been so empty. I also sitting here watching this thinking, if the cheese didn't slide off the cracker for Daniel Johnston, would he be doing stuff like Jonathan?
