A video I took at the Ayr Races (17.9.11) - Horses in view at 1:27

Article from the Mirror:
Our Jonathan saved the layers a packet as he bolted home in the bookie-sponsored Ayr Gold Cup yesterday.

Eton Rifles was the punters' pick for this £74,000 dash and the Newmarket raider was backed into 6-1 favourite.

But despite finishing second, Eton Rifles was two lengths adrift of 11-1 chance Our Jonathan at the line.
Son Of The Cat (16-1) finished well to grab third from Colonel Mak (18-1).

Winning jockey Franny Norton reckoned he was well overdue a win in this ultra-competitive race.

"I've been booked to ride the winner twice before only to lose the ride again," he said.

"This is a special horse to me and his owner."

Our Jonathan's owner is Dr Marwan Koukash who was landing backto-back runnings of the big race.

"I named him after a friend who sadly died and it's great that the horse has won a race like this," he said.

Trainer Kevin Ryan (below) is enjoying a fantastic year and still in with a chance of landing 150 winners.

"Our Jonathan was a top twoyear-old and they never lose that ability," said the trainer.

"He's been running well all year, but in the last ten days he's really sparkled."

The Silver Cup went to Cheveton and apprentice Dale Swift who landed the Ebor last month.

"Dale gets on really well with Cheveton. He loses ground at the start for other jockeys," said trainer Richard Price.

"This horse has been really good to me and the rain up here was just what he wanted."

Not so happy was Adam Kirby, banned for four days for his use of the whip on Mirza.

First-time blinkers did the trick for Roger Sez who romped home in the Firth Of Clyde Stakes, while Richard Hannon landed the richest prize at Newmarket when 8-1 shot Tell Dad scooped the £108,000 sales race pot under jockey Richard Mullen.
