Davis Lake

Davis Lake used to be a world class Rainbow trout lake until someone illegally introduced Large Mouth Bass. Now it's a world class bass fishery with specimens weighing in up to 10 pounds. While it's still a fly fishing only water, creative fly anglers can hook into these huge fish. From the upcoming Fly Fishing Central Oregon DVD, host Gary Lewis along with Stillwater Outfitter's Howard Abshere and Brett Dennis spend an afternoon pushing the limits of their fly rods.

While nobody, including myself, support anyone illegally and irresponsibly planting anything........I personally get annoyed by the people whining about the Bass in Davis! Every freaking lake in C.O. is a trout lake. We've got tons of awesome trout lakes. So many trout lakes it would take a lifetime to fish them all....literally. It's really nice to have an alternative. Davis is a lot of fun. I hope it stays the way it is.

I used to love to fish this lake, back before some scumb illegally dumped bass in it. It used to be one of many great fly fishing lakes in central oregon. I hope someday the fish and game com. will poison all those nasty bass so we can have our trout lakes back.
