is having pride in one's southern roots the only thing that separates hard rock/metal from the southern sound genre? i'm not trying to knock anything. also, is hard rock/metal is all the encompasses this genre? it's nice to have a band like down, as new rock n' roll, if you can even call it that, has totally had the balls ripped from it.
