Testing those new tractors would have been a great job. Hard to believe how many they built in a months time.

@emanboychild for sure. still have two of them running strong on our farm. I would have loved to be they guy that got to test them beasts out.

god bless ih :)

At 5:14 What beautiful Farmall 806. One of the best tractor models (of many!) IH made.

I live about a mile from this place, and as of 2011, the middle portion ( the old assembly line) is gone. They left one wall from the old assembly line intact and they now use the empty lot to park John Deere Seeding Cylinders (irony). The western half of the plant is still used for cab production in Navistar Trucks.

@snowman9980 Don't forget that the federal government bailed out Chrysler the first time at the same time IH and Allis were in big trouble.

Man, a shame that i only can give one 'thumbs up' for this clip. That was really really interesting.

i like the part at 4:00, it show a classic Farmall Super M, as soon as i get some money, i am going on a hunt to find one because our farm had one, but my granpa got rid of it because it had no live power and that was the only problem with them

IH and Allis Chalmers Fell in the early 80's, yet when Chrysler and GM where in trouble Obamma stepped right in, kind of ticks me off in a way......
what the hells wrong with us, how can we let this happen.i understand that was a while ago but we need to stop importing crap and get back to building american quality like the IH
this just gets under my skin...nice video

When IH fell, they had created the combine of the future, as well as great farm and garden equipment. Just imagine where they would've been today.
