Laser removal of nail polish on my toe

My sister thought it would be funny to paint my big toenails red while I was under anesthesia for an operation (she is a surgeon's assistant). Well, I thought it would be original to remove it using a high powered Q-switched laser instead of the plain old nail polish remover. Pretty cool.

Oh, and the laser cleans shoes pretty well, too!! :-)

I used the LASER to "burn" off the polish. The red pigment in the nail polish is highly absorbed by the green light of the laser, the nail polish heats up very rapidly (in just a few nanoseconds) and then it vaporizes. Kinda neat actually.

The laser is used to remove tattoos.
