    At the end of Friends' sixth season, Bruce Willis had a 3 episode recurring role as Ross' student turned girlfriend Elizabeth's father Paul. On Friends, this movie was Ross and Joey's favorite movie of all time (if not their favorite, one of their favorites) and I'm surprised no one noticed Paul looked exactly like John McClane.

    My argument is that just that the characters were far superior.

    Jeremy Irons and Samuel L Jackson in DH3 trump all of the cast in DH2. And I think what made Die Hard so great is the painstaking journey of the characters and how they interact with the villain. We all remember Hans Gruber in the first die hard because Alan did such a great job and was such a good villain. His interactions with McClane were interesting. This dynamic was in DH3 but not DH2, because of the lesser actors and the twist
