  • These are really old locos now, aren't they? Is this one still in active service or is it in preservation?

  • The musem keeps it servesable, and it gets a fare amount of use.

  • Its like you go 2 cameras going at once. The outside veiw is nice. I actully clean the V in this engine. Great video, it looks pro! ( you are pro! )

  • Thanks alot man! I do alot of my NCTM and Tweetise Videos like that.

  • If you are trying to look for Santa Claus here is a hint, look out the locomotive window when the train is backing-up.

  • OMG! How does he steer that thing? Seriously, though - I love the deep throbing of the compressor kicking in @ 5:00. Good job and thank you for posting.

  • HEY PAPPY, CAN WE STEP ON IT A BIT...

  • gooood up very impressionant

  • In the late 70s I was abord this engine while it idled in Richmond VA in their

yard where it was getting ready for an excursion. It was with permission, and it

was one of the things I'll always remember. It made me get attached to the F units, the sound and feel of the engine even idling is awsome! I always love it when I see something online about this engine! Glad we have Youtube now, there wasn't in the late 70s! Also glad it's still around!

  • I have some "live" history with this engine! Once when furloughed on Southern, I rode a steam excursion with 4501 that had 6133 in consist. There was an aggravating rail "foamer" that was pestering me and I slipped off the train and boarded 6133 to "hide" from this worrisome kid, riding it from Spartanburg, SC to Charlotte, NC. The kid never found me, and I quickly detrained from the cab and slipped away into the dusk at Charlotte! As an employee, I DID get permission to do it!

  • haha old man Henry at the controls

  • fantastic!

  • Love the sound of those old EMD 567 prime movers! Nothing else like them.

  • Can you dig that groovy sound! EMD RULES!

  • That sounds like a 567C engine.
