This truck gets about a mile per pound of wood. If you have not done this before, find someone who has and go look in person. Even if you have to travel to do it, it will save you so many mistakes that will cost far more. Things to avoid: low temperature gassification creates tar, just the same as a cigarette. Tar will kill a motor just like it will kill a smoker.

@nw8000 If you start building these things, look for plans for imbert gassifier, or holts gas generator. Check out the wood gas groups as well, a lot of this knowledge is peer to peer.

a guartee it wont work on an eletric car <- meaning computer controlled with out having the ecu modded since you change air to fuel byu using differnt fuel it wont run right in a  ecu car

generally how much wood would get you 100 miles on that truck??? i have a 94 ford explorer that i want to try this on. if i just inject this smoke into the engine, would the computer lean out or richen the fuel mixture?? and would the wood gas damage the o2 sensors? i like the idea on wood gas and want to try it but i dont want to damage my engine in the process. is there anything i should know before attempting this project alone?? please help.
